Tardy Again...

ISO 100 ~ f/5.6 ~ 1/60 ~ 135mm ~ Diffused Flash

Technical note: I used the built-in flash on the camera, diffusing it (to get subtle shadows, rather than harsh dark shadows) with some crumpled bubble-wrap... No need for a fancy flash and flash diffuser! (Although it sure would be nice! :-] )

Sorry for the delay... I had a wedding to attend on Saturday, and was busy most of Sunday, so my apologies if you were waiting.

  • No apologies necessary! :-)

I've read about using creative ways to diffuse a flash, but haven't tried anything yet. Once again, you inspire me to just do it! Thanks!

  • It was funny, Andrea, because Dad just told me that he thought my picture here needed more DOF... He said I should take my own advice! ;) (referring to the comment I left on your blog about the fall bush.)

I guess it all boils down to personal preference and taste! :-)

That's so true! Photography is extremely variable, and what may look right to one person is completely wrong to another's point of view. I think the real challenge lies in envisioning yourself what you want the finished product to look like, and then taking the picture accordingly. If only it was as easy as blinking your eyes and automatically getting the result you're picturing!
